HISTORY OF DANCE
Dance is the part of every ones life ,some perform it daily and some on several occasions.It is the very important of ceremonies ,rituals,celebration and entertainment since before the earliest human civilizations were born.The traces of dance are found out from the prehistoric times such as Bhimbetka rock from the cave paintings of India.The history of dance defines this.
Indian classical dance
Earlier during the region of Mughals and Nawabs,dance was considered as fell down to the status of people.it was considered as ”nautch’‘which is an unethical sensuous thing.
later it was linked with prostitution and immoral trafficking.the thing of that time defined that the low class people can only dance in public as an urge to earn money and the Mughal and Nawab kings and the high class people only used to watch it.
the Rule of Britishers in India also prohibited the public dance performance.After 1947 when India gained freedom all the Indian classical forms of dance were rediscovered and the ethnic specialists were honored and the creativity of individuals were promoted.
Dance has always been a important part of ceremonies and rituals since a very long time . Every ceremony and rituals have their own dances and songs.
- Dance always has played a role in the social bonding and a means of survival for early humans, Its a saying that good dancers are good social communicators. And in early times it was true enough.
- Many of the folk festivals were celebrated by dancing like crop harvest, Births , weddings etc.
- Dance always an important part of ceremonies and rituals , the best example is the rain dance at the time of drought .
- Dance always been used as a means to expression . The dancers tells the stories through their expressions , their steps, their footwork etc.
So we got to now that dance is a part of many lives since a very long time…
